The Rubirosa tobacco company signs a technical assistance agreement

The Rubirosa tobacco corporation, producer and distributor of Rubirosa cigarettes, and the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) signed a technical assistance agreement. The agreement, signed by the executive director of Caribbean Export, Earle Baccus and Juan Cohen Sander, president of the Rubirosa tobacco company, has as its fundamental objective the co-financing of the execution of a technical training plan with the objective of expanding the competitive advantages of Rubirosa cigars in the foreign market.

Juan Cohen Sander, president of the Rubirosa tobacco company, expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the collaboration agreement and highlighted the benefits that he believes will result in growth and maintenance of the level of employment and generation of foreign currency for the Dominican Republic.

Rosendo Alvarez III, manager of the management development and competitiveness program at Caribbean Export, praised the qualities that made the aforementioned company qualify for the aforementioned agreement, highlighting at the same time the dedication and commitment of the management of the Rubirosa company in penetrating the international markets.

Caribbean Export is an institution established with contributions from the European Union under the Lomé IV Agreement and the governments of the 15 member countries of the Caribbean Forum (Cariforum). The main goal is to increase the exports of the member nations. in the regional and extra-regional dimension.

The Dominican Republic has recently achieved international renown in the manufacturing of high-quality cigars. The fundamental elements in the presentation and appropriate marketing of this product are first-order factors in the permanence of the product in an area that, due to its popularity, is becoming increasingly competitive.

This marks a milestone in terms of technical training to improve business competitiveness in the non-food agroindustrial sector.
